On Tuesday, 1 September 2026, ICOSA — the International Council of School Accreditation — holds its second global conclave at the MPH, India International Centre, New Delhi. Vidyayatan Technologies LLP joins it as official Technology Partner.
It is a natural partnership. ICOSA is building a modern, fully digital way for schools to demonstrate their quality. Vidyayatan builds the software that education runs on. Both organisations are working towards the same thing from different directions: schools that can show what they are good at, and parents who can trust what they are shown.
What the Conclave is
Presented by IIRF, the International Institutional Ranking Framework, the ICOSA School Conclave 2026 follows the first ICOSA Conclave and Awards, held at the same venue on 11 December 2025. This year's theme is Beyond Accreditation, Towards Transformation, and it brings school leaders, policymakers and academics together for a day.
That theme reflects how ICOSA sees its role. Accreditation is treated as the beginning of something rather than the end of it. Its evaluators are working educators, and they hand a school a plan for getting better. Its benchmarks are international, and they are designed to sit alongside a school's own character and traditions rather than replace them.
The speaker list shows the range of that thinking. Alongside academics and principals — Dr Irfan A. Rizvi of IMI New Delhi, Shri Kulbhushan Sharma of the National Independent School Association, Shri Om Pathak of DPS Ghaziabad, Mrs Sujata Sen of Future Hope School in Kolkata — ICOSA has invited a psychiatrist formerly at AIIMS Delhi and a senior counselling psychologist. Student wellbeing sits on the programme alongside academics and infrastructure, which is a genuinely forward-looking view of what school quality means.
What ICOSA measures
ICOSA publishes its framework in full. Every school is assessed twice over: once by an ICOSA expert panel, and once by the school itself. Both use a 5-point scale, and the final grade is the average of the two. Six areas carry 100 marks each — academic performance, teacher and teaching competence, teaching resources and pedagogy, sports and infrastructure, 21st-century skills, and innovative curriculum. Grades run from Foundational (2.0–2.50) up to Excellence (3.51–5.0).
Because the school scores itself alongside the panel, the process doubles as a structured self-review. Comparing the two perspectives is often where the most useful insight sits — it shows a school exactly where its own view and an expert view line up, and where there is room to grow. The whole thing happens online, takes 7 to 10 days, and ends with a digital certificate that a parent can verify by scanning a QR code, plus a listing in ICOSA's public directory. Schools in more than 15 countries have been through it.

How Vidyayatan supports ICOSA

- Collecting evidence without burying a school. A school going through accreditation has to produce documents, results and photographs across six areas. Getting that in quickly, in a form assessors can actually work with, is the difference between a two-hour job and a two-week one.
- Handling both sets of scores properly. Dual assessment means two scores for every criterion — the panel's and the school's. Both need storing side by side, so a school can see exactly where the views line up and where they don't.
- Certificates a parent can trust. A QR code is only as good as the service behind it. It has to answer instantly, tell the truth about whether an accreditation is still valid, and keep doing so years later.
- Using AI carefully. ICOSA's process includes AI-assisted evaluation and a whole AI-readiness accreditation. Building that responsibly — where a model assists a human decision rather than quietly replacing it — is exactly the work we do for clients every week.
- Looking after children's data. School data is sensitive by definition, and India's DPDP rules set out what has to change in practice. Our ISO 27001 certification is the discipline behind that, not a badge for the website.

The AI-Enabled School Readiness track
ICOSA has also launched a second, separate accreditation: AI-Enabled School Readiness, which it calls a first of its kind. Forty-eight questions across six areas — infrastructure, curriculum, faculty, student outcomes, governance and innovation — produce a score ICOSA calls the AI Index, marked out of 100. Schools have 30 days to complete it, and are recognised as an AI-Enabled School at 2.5 out of 5 or above.
This is the part we find most interesting. Measuring AI readiness across governance and student outcomes — not just equipment — gives a school a clear, structured picture of where it actually stands and what to do next. It also brings the practical questions into focus: how AI is used in the classroom, how a child's work is looked after when it sits inside a supplier's system, and how a school can tell that a tool is genuinely helping. Those are the questions we work on every week, which is a large part of why this partnership makes sense.
